They're each held on with two bolts. Do not allow the calipers to hang from the brake hoses. This picture is a view of the passenger side caliper suspended with a bungee cord. You're going to want the calipers out of the way for doing work on the control arms later on. I've pointed out the suspended passenger side caliper in the picture. I've also pointed out a location that I eventually moved the caliper to that was completely out of the way. I suggest you put yours in the same location. If your truck has ABS, then be sure to unplug the ABS line from the knuckle before removing the calipers.
Do not depress the brake pedal after the calipers have been removed!
Take the four caliper bolts (and ABS bolts if there were any) and put them in a zip-loc bag and label it 'BRAKE CALIPERS'. Put the bag in a in a safe place because you will reuse all these parts for reassembly.
If your truck needs brake work such as rotor resurfacing or new pads, now would be a good time to take care of all that. The rotors can be resurfaced while you continue on with the lift and you can send your Mom to Schuck's for some new brake pads.
One thing that annoyed me with this kit is that Fabtech doesn't include new brake lines. They expect you to bend and reroute the steel brake lines to compensate for the 6" loss. If I were to install this kit again, then I'd buy an Explorer ProComp extended brake line kit.
